Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand ToursJim Corbett National Park is 115-km from Nainital, via Kaladhungi. The pride of Corbett National Park is the distinction of being the first national park of India . It sprawls over an area of 1,200-sq-kms and was established in the year 1935 as the Hailey National Park , after Sir William Malcohm Hailey, an enthusiastic conservationist who was at that time governor of united provinces.

In 1957, the park was re-christened as the Corbett National Park in the memory of late Jim Corbett, legendary sportsman, great naturalist, eminent conservationist and a profilic writer, who spent some of the best and happiest years of his life in Kaladhungi and Nainital.

Itinerary :

Day 1 Corbett National Park

Early morning drive from Delhi to Corbett National Park.
Arrival at campsite by noon.
After lunch, visit the Interpretation Centre.
Guided jeep safari through Jim Corbett Park.

Corbett - The heavenly abode for adventure lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, Corbett National Park is set in the Shivalik foothills of the Himalayas in Uttranchal. River rafting and elephant rides are the favorite activities of the tourists here across the 520 sq km of India's first national park along the bank of Ramganga river. It is also known for Sal tree as its main flora. It is named after the hunter-naturalist Jim Corbett, who suggested the conception of this wildlife sanctuary, Over 50 mammals, 580 birds and 25 reptile species have been spotted here but the highlight of course is the Indian Tigers, Leopards and Gharials, the rare fish eating, long-nosed crocodiles.

Day free to relax or indulge in wildlife photography.
Dinner and overnight stay at Corbett National Park.


Day 2 Corbett National Park

Early morning elephant safari through open grasslands and dense forests for wildlife viewing in the Corbett National Park.
After breakfast, jeep safari to lakeside to see crocodiles.
After lunch, day free to relax. Optional spending the day in a watchtower overlooking a water hole.
Evening film shows on wildlife.
Dinner and overnight stay at the park.


Day 3 Corbett National Park

Afternoon jeep safari to Bijrani for tiger tracking.
Overnight stay at hotel.


Day 4 Nainital

Early morning drive to Bhuvankhal at sunrise.
Nainital - Nainital in Uttaranchal has beautiful Naini lake and panoramic mountain scenery. Besides the hill resorts of Almora, Ranikhet and Kausani, Nainital has extended tourist attractions as MulwaTal to the east along with Bhimtal, Sattal and Naukachiatal and recreational activities such as canoeing and yachting.

Lunch at campsite.
Drive to Lal Kuan, Nainital for departure to onward destination.
